Benevolence Ministries

The benevolence ministries of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church exist to serve our community by showing the love of Jesus through care. We understand that we are to ultimately be bondservants of King Jesus; therefore, we take seriously that everything we do must be done “…with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men…”

Mercy House Clothing Ministry

The Mercy House clothing ministry of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church began as a benevolence ministry shortly after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the New Orleans area. We noticed that a great many families and individuals were being displaced, temporarily and some even permanently, as a result of the storm. It was our desire to do what we could to minister to these families in their time of need. Since this time it has remained open for those in the community to receive clothing and other essential items that one may need for their home. This ministry is solely volunteer driven and it relies on the good will of others to help fill the hangers and stock the shelves. It is open to the public on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:00 pm.

Bereavement & Shut-in Meals

At Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, we know the pain and the heartache of losing loved ones. That is why we desire to ministry to the members of Sharon Missionary Baptist by providing a meal or two during the loss of a loved one. This is just an outward expression of an inward heart that has been changed by Almighty God. Above all, we want you to know we are praying for you and are here for you. Likewise, our volunteer kitchen crew generously takes warm meals to shut-in members of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.
